Damp Proofing & Timber Preservation Surveyor

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough surveys for damp and timber issues, diagnosing problems such as rising damp, woodworm, dry rot, and condensation.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports that provide recommendations for remedial actions.
  • Liaise effectively with clients and contractors.
  • Offer tailored advice on property care, maintenance, and preservation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant building regulations and health and safety standards.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in damp proofing and timber preservation is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of building construction, materials, and diagnostic techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical issues to clients in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage your workload effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • A full driving license is required.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • CSTDB/CSRT qualifications in the preservation sector.
  • CSSW qualifications in the structural waterproofing sector.
  • CSJK qualifications in the invasive weed sector.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for creating technical drawings.
  • PCA qualifications or a willingness to pursue them.
